Self care and hugs

·

A couple of days over the past week I’ve sat at the beach. I sat reflecting and thinking about where I am at personally and how that connects with where the world is at as well. I have a great deal of conflict and it simply relates to kindness.

I’m not sure what happened that kindness no longer matters that we have the capacity to be so mean and so uncaring about the suffering of others. I watch as people navigate what’s happening and others turn their heads away and justify it through political means.

The personal stress that an individual goes through in life, it doesn’t matter who they are. It matters to be kind. I guess maybe there’s something wrong with me that I myself see the value of every human being. I guess it’s easier for people to find reasons to dehumanize. But for me right now, I will stand up and show love and be there with kindness in my heart. I hope that many will choose to do the same. I see you.

In the meantime, I’m also learning to do self-care. Sit by the water, stand in the grass, as those are things that bring me comfort, and center me. It’s also incredible that those things are free. No need to spend just need to appreciate.

It’s funny to say that I’m learning self-care at my age because I think we hear it our whole lives. We just need to remember to apply it. We get wrapped up in the rush of the day-to-day and it makes it difficult to remember how important it is to love ourselves.

I guess I’m feeling the need to send hugs out because I recognize that all of us are struggling in our own way. Rather than be critical of choices, I want to be there to help bring peace.

Big love to everybody today as we walk through the day .

Sending a hug to anybody who needs it.
